In a retro diner suspended between life and death, seventeen-year-old Zoe Hart is handed a menu with seven dishes, each with the power to take her back to moments from her past.

If she can resolve her life-altering regret before her final dish is served, she gets her life back. Fail, however, and the fog beyond the diner awaits. 

With time running out to save her own life, Zoe must confront who truly holds her heart…

  • For fans of You’ve Reached Sam and If I Stay, Kate Emilie’s Seven Dishes to Fall in Love is publishing July 2027 with Random House Children’s Books in the US and HarperCollins in the UK.

There was a 14-agent auction to represent Kate Emilie and her debut,Seven Dishes to Fall in Love, went on to sell in a major two-book deal in the US, with rights going to Random House Children's Books after an 8-way auction. UK and Commonwealth rights went to Electric Monkey, an imprint of HarperCollins, after a 4-way auction, in a 6-figure deal. Rights have also sold in competitive auctions in Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Brazil, Portugal, Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech, and the Netherlands to date.

In addition to winning Friday Night Live at the 2025 London Festival of Writing, Seven Dishes to Fall in Love was a 2025 Frankfurt Bookfair hotlist title, it was shortlisted for the 2025 Idea Idol competition, named a readers' favourite and longlisted for the 2025 WriteMentor Awards, reached the Top 100 in the 2025 Bath Novel Awards, and it reached Top 50 in the New2TheScene Winter and Summer Novel competitions. It was also a 2025 Frankfurt Book Fair hotlist title.
